I recently read an article in the Durango Herald entitled "Down Payment Assistance for Local Buyers" about services offered by the Regional Housing Alliance and I thought it would be a great read for those considering buying their first home. Not being able to make a down payment may not be a deal breaker. "The Regional Housing Alliance (RHA) offers homebuyer education, financial and credit counseling and down payment assistance...Once the education is complete, a qualified buyer may obtain down payment assistance in the range of $10,000 to $25,000."
